![]() The Arch of Triumph |
This was a big day for us. We woke up at 5:30 a.m. and tried to catch the 7 a.m. train to Paris. We reached Paris around 8:30 p.m. in Gare Saint Lazare. Our first destination was the Arch of Triumph. After a 20-minute walk, we finally reach the imposing Arch of Triumph. It was full with tourists especially people from China. I felt like I was in China momentarily. The Arch of Triumph is a memorial for the Great Army.
Later, we walked all the way to the Eiffel Tower. When I reached the Place Du Trocadero, I did not want to turn my head to see the Eiffel Tower. I kept walking until the middle part of the big area. Only then did I turn my head around.
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo........

That is the only way to express my feeling. I never thought I would have a chance to see the real Eiffel Tower. How much I wished my girlfriend were next to me.
After flashing my camera around, we walked toward the tower. It was a long, long line under the tower; people were waiting to get up to have a great view of Paris.
After the Eiffel Tower we moved to the Louvre Museum. On the way, we stopped at a small area next to the river and had lunch. We packed our lunch to Paris to save some money. On the way to the Louvre Museum we stopped at some places just because of the artistic and romantic view of Paris.
Pont Alexandre III is one of the signs that impressed me a lot. We were there less than an hour but I saw three couples taking their wedding album photos along the bridge. This made me start a plan to shoot my wedding album in Paris.

The Louvre museum is huge. Anais told me that no one in the lab where I am working at has finished visiting everything in this museum. Some people told me that it takes at least three days to go around. The Mona Lisa drawing is inside this museum; I couldn't wait to see her. We did not enter the museum because we had another plan in July.
We pretty much kept walking around in Paris for the whole day, visited some shops along the river and rested on a bench next to Notre Dame. This Notre Dame is almost 800 years old; I just cannot imagine how much it has experienced. Various wars and revolutions almost demolished the building. I felt glad I could still gaze upon the greatness of Notre Dame today.

It was a sunny day in Paris. I felt so lucky because the weather forecast predicted a 90 percent chance of rain. Finally, we caught a 7:25 p.m. train back to Rouen. The tour of Paris was so tiring, but I felt it was really worth it. There is only one word to describe Paris: perfect!
