Career Fairs are an opportunity to meet with representatives from a variety of industries, learn more about positions that are available and determine which organizations may be the best fit for you.

Who Should Attend?

  • Students who are enrolled in Durham School programs-Architectural Engineering, Construction Management or Construction Engineering
  • Students who are enrolled in Civil Engineering programs
  • Students interested in a career in any of the fields listed above

How to Prepare

  • Create or update your resume. The UNO Career Center and UNL Career Services offers assistance with resume writing, interview skills, etc. Employers will be provided your resume. Students, please submit your registration for a Husker Hire Link account on-line at http://www.unl.edu/careers/hhl/hhlform.shtml. Omaha campus students do NOT have a UNL Blackboard ID and must fill out the registration form no later than SEPTEMBER 30, 2009 (WEDNESDAY) at 5:00 p.m. An email will be sent to you once your account is set up, at which time please log-in to Husker Hire Link and follow the instructions listed to upload your resume. If you have any questions during this process, please contact Christine Warren at (402)554-3918 or at cwarren2@unl.edu.
  • Attend the Career Fair Prep Workshop. Learn how to make the Career Fair work for you. At the workshop "Maximize Your Career Fair Experience" hosted by the Kiewit Building Group, you will get tips on what you need to do to make a good impression during and after the event. Scheduled for September 23, 2009 from 3-5pm in Room 335 in PKI. No reservation required to attend this presentation.
  • Attend the Welcome Reception. Mingle with your potential employers before the Career Fair begins at the scheduled Welcome Reception in the Scott Conference Center. Event held on Monday, October 5, 2009, from 5-7 pm and includes an informational session on various participating companies. RSVP is REQUIRED, please contact Amber Retke at (402)554-2531 or aretke2@unl.edu or Christine Warren at (402)554-3918 by SEPTEMBER 30, 2009.
  • Research the participating employers. Check back frequently to see what new employers have been added to the list of attendees. Click here for an updated list of participating employers.
