The Effective Teaming Laboratory: Model


Model Goals

  • To measure individual growth when learning a subject and learning how to work in a team
  • To measure teamwork effectiveness

Principles of the Model

  1. Individuals must understand and be able to demonstrate their understanding in areas leading to team effectiveness
  2. A collective team of individuals must also understand and be able to demonstrate their understanding in areas leading to team effectiveness; and
  3. Measurement of understanding must occur both individually and collectively prior to and at the conclusion of the task

Model Outcomes

  1. Individually, team members grew in their understanding of the team constructs
  2. The team as a whole grew in their understanding of team constructs; and
  3. Proper synergy of task and team process occurred
