Preparing Innovative Leaders for Tomorrow

Dean's Welcome

Would you like to see the future?

Look to research that is happening with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's College of Engineering.

Dr. Namas Chandra

In my role as Associate Dean for Research, I am inspired by the accomplishments of our faculty, and I am eager to share this excitement with you.

We focus on nanotechnology; transportation; structures and electronics engineering; and materials research. We are advancing to explore biomechanics, materials and medicine; renewable energy production, distribution and consumption; and cyber infrastructures.

Across these varied areas, a common element unites us. In our research, we develop and extend the societal benefits of our work, while we grow our individual and team capabilities in teaching and learning.

We have worked hard to earn our national reputation and are on track to achieve our goal of $35 million in research expenditures by 2011. Our efforts position us as leaders in our disciplines and in our geographic area, and open doors to new opportunities such as the Nebraska Innovation Campus.

The future is in research at Nebraska Engineering. Working with prospective students, faculty and industry partners, we are committed to excellence.
