Discover Engineering Days Welcomes Middle Schools

Discover Engineering Days

Middle school students swarmed UNL's East Campus for the annual Discover Engineering Days in April. They rode a hovercraft and built their own minihovercrafts. They also constructed bridges from newspapers and explored processes to help make cleaner water. Engineering students led the learning enjoyed by more than 300 guests from local schools. Andre Fortune, the college's director of recruiting and retention, said the program gets young students hands-on with engineering and increases their familiarity with UNL programs.

Students from Crete, Blair, Omaha and Lincoln enjoyed a day at UNL, devoted to engineering.
