Leadership Changes at Durham School

James O'Hanlong
James O'Hanlon
Grenville Yuill

In February 2009 James O'Hanlon was named interim director of UNL's Charles W. Durham School of Architectural Engineering and Construction. He succeeds Grenville Yuill, professor of architectural engineering, who served as the founding director of the school since July 2007. Yuill stepped down from the director's post to return to his faculty position.

O'Hanlon is a professor in UNL's College of Education and Human Sciences, with expertise in academic leadership. He previously served as dean of Teachers College, led the university's re-accreditation report development, and was interim director of the Nebraska Alumni Association.

Dean David Allen welcomed O'Hanlon to the interim position and praised Yuill's pivotal role in the development of both the architectural engineering program and The Durham School. O'Hanlon will serve until a permanent director is named, following a national search.
