The University of Nebraska–Lincoln College of Engineering and the student chapter of the Society of Women Engineers hosted Women Interested in Engineering Day on Sat., Sept. 16.
WIIE is for young women in grades 10-12 who are interested in math and science. Students and faculty lead hands-on activities introducing participants to various engineering disciplines.
This year's feature speaker was Angel McMullen-Gunn, a 2003 graduate who is a mechanical engineer for Hamilton Sundstrand in York.
The conference was established in 1998 to encourage young women to pursue careers in engineering.
