Weekend Camp Teaches Girls About Engineering:
The University of Nebraska–Lincoln
College of Engineering and the student
chapter of the Society of Women Engineers
hosted Women Interested in Engineering Day
on Sat., Sept. 16.
WIIE is for young women in grades 10-12
who are interested in math and science.
Students and faculty lead hands-on activities
introducing participants to various engineering
disciplines.
This year's feature speaker was Angel
McMullen-Gunn, a 2003 graduate who is a
mechanical engineer for Hamilton Sundstrand
in York.
The conference was established in 1998 to
encourage young women to pursue careers in
engineering.
