• Prof. Tom Sires has been associated with the University of Nebraska since 1963. He has been the director of the Nebraska MESA program since 1987; recently he has been responsible for the college's "Earn and Learn" Program. His awards include the ASEE Centennial Certificate and the Order of the Engineer. He has served as a mentor to both students and junior faculty members.
  
  Prof. Sires has baccalaureate degrees in civil engineering and business administration. He has a master's degree in mathematics and physics. He is a Senior Engineering Technologist.
