A Success Story: Anayeli Martinez Real, Construction Engineering Alum, 2011
Anayeli Martinez Real loves the well-rounded education she achieved as a student in the construction engineering program at the Durham School. From hands-on internships to her role as president of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, the engineering and leadership skills she gained led directly to her current position as Commissioning Engineer with Kiewit Building Group. Anayeli appreciates the Durham School’s emphasis on global awareness. “Clients and architects are becoming environmentally conscious; therefore, the way we design and construct is changing.” She also loved the opportunity to encourage middle and high school students to pursue a higher education in a technical field. “I would say, ‘Nothing is impossible! Dedication and passion for what you do will take you very far in life.’”
