At the January 2009 International Builders' Show in Las Vegas, the UNL College of Engineering gained several honors from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).

Zach Nelson earned NAHB's 2009 Outstanding Student Award.

Nebraska Engineering's NAHB Student Chapter won third place in the Outstanding Student Chapter competition. UNL surpassed 175 other student chapters in the nation, according to Chuck Berryman, Ph.D., associate professor and program coordinator for UNL's Construction Management studies.

Zach Nelson, an Elkhorn senior majoring in Construction Engineering, won NAHB's prestigious Outstanding Student Award. Nelson is the president of Nebraska Engineering's NAHB Student Chapter.
